November 4th, 2018 - Day 4 - Lisbon

Updated: Nov 6, 2018

Well, rainy Sundays can somehow always get you in a somber mood.

Most of today was spent walking the streets, as it was only a drizzle for the morning. I finally made it to the grocery store and bought some chicken, jambón (local cured meat), and cheese... I think I may go after this ketosis craze... for a week.

The late afternoon was spent conducting my first interview; it couldn't have turned out better for #1. Joshua was perfect for a participant as he is well read and technologically savvy, a millennial, and we had the initial connection of living in Atlantic Canada as an ice breaker. I'm excited for you guys to read it once it is finalized.

I have been going on a run every day. Tonight I went on my first thunder run. 5.4km of what was exactly as bad as it sounds. Google maps lead me up a tram hill (hills downtown Lisbon with trams built into the roads because no sane person wants to walk up them, let alone run. This sounds like a humble brag but if you saw me once I got to the top I probably looked green in the face.

Web Summit begins tomorrow. For those of you unaware Web Summit is the largest technology conference on earth; a perfect way to build network and knowledge. There is said to be 70,000 attendees and there will be many amazing speakers. I can't wait to see the venue tomorrow afternoon.
